- Inhibition of the
apoptosis : Apoptosis is programmed cell death which helps
to remove the aged as well as damaged cells out of the body. Cancer
cells are damaged cell and that should be removed from the body but
unfortunately due to the inhibition of apoptosis the number of
cacerous cells increases in the body. Unlike mutagens it act on the
3’ UTR region of the cell’s DNA.
- Effect of mutagens
: Mutagens cause the change in the DNA converting proto
oncogenes to oncogens. This cancer causing genes make the
proliferation of cancer cells unconditionally. Mutagens such as
chemical agents, radiation such as ionic and non-ionic etc.
Mutagens act on promoter and that is a major difference from then
inhibitors of apoptosis.
All the meachanisms are similar
because they allow to cancer cell metastasis as well as
uncontrolled growth and proliferation.
Hope it will helpful to you. Thank
you
