All the information needed to solve the following questions is given.

  1. Assign tasks to workstations:

  1. Efficiency of your burrito line:

  1. Actual output per hour:

  1. What if demand were such that 200 / hour were needed?

  1. What is the maximum # of burritos that can be produced in an hour with these specific times/tasks?

Solutions

Expert Solution

The network diagram for the activity is given as follows. Each task is assigned to a workstation. Time for each workstation is mentioned in the table in question:

The total time for completion of 1 burrito will be 95 secs. (following Critical path)

(A+B+{C or D}+E+I+J+K)

(20+10+10+10+15+5+25)

EFFICIENCY OF BURRITO LINE:

Sum of all task time= 130 secs

Number of stations= 11

Cycle time= 95 secs

Line efficiency= 12.44%

The critical task is task K which takes 25 sec to complete.

If continuous production is considered, then burritos made in an hour will be= 3600/25= 144 burritos

In order to increase production to 200 burritos per hour, we will need to increase stations for tasks A and K.

Now the new critical task will be task I which takes 15 sec to complete.

Hence the production will be =3600/15 =240 burritos

Maximum burritos that will be produced with the new setting is 240 burritos per hour

Suppose the demand for burrito in a small isolated town is p = 8 - 2Q. There are only two firms, A and B, and each has a marginal cost of 2. Determine the Cournot equilibrium. (hint: using the rule that Marginal Revenue’s slope is always twice as much as the slope of the residual demand curve as long as the residual demand is linear in output) Can you please write the answer on paper so it's clearer for me...
