Environment cues activate what type of proteins to influene gene expression?
Environmental cues is defined as a signals for action, that specific portion of a field or pattern of stimuli to which the subject has learned to respond.
There are several environmental cues which influence the gene expression, like:
TEMPERATURE : A study made on the wings of drosophila with response to temperature provided results with the effect of temperature. Flies exposed to the temperature of 25 degree Celcius showed less penetrance whereas flies exposed to higher temperatures showed increased penetrance. This was observed the increase in development of wings in the selected population of flies.
LIGHT : The plant carrying the homozygous gene for pigmentation develops a bright red color when exposed to sunlight. But when the sunlight is restricted or if the plant that is prone to pigmentation is croverd from sunlight, the bright red color pigment was not observed.
NUTRITION : The deficient nutrient alters gene expression. For example, whatever the pregnant woman eats determines the health of her offsprings. The folic acid supplement takes care of the development of the fetus whereas the the deficiency of folic acid leads to birth abnormalities.
