Expert Solution

Answer-) Boeing 777 initially was successful , gathering many order from countries and being more effective than Airbus 340. It was estimated that this aircraft will be in great demand but one particular and most important reason why it failed is because of their heavy fuel tanks . Boeing 777 was intended to go on long distance flights but due to problems with the weight and Increase in fuel costs , airlines preferred short and lighter flights as like ATR flights because they did the job and also was less in cost to maintain.

If given the opportunity to restart, I would definitely give more focus to have lighter fuel tanks so that the airline can also be efficient in shorter haul flights. I would have materials made of light material so that the weight is less and a budget to have a sustain. The experts should have been given a target where all the system should be top class but only the weight should be distributed well among the wings and have a ligher cargo section.
