I don't think we need to adjust the criteria per se to the point that we need to add three different requirements a psychological assessment, disclosure of tax returns for the past five years, and served in the U.S. Army.
DOD Directive 5210.42 mandates that any personnel working with or coming into contact with nuclear weapons must be able to undergo a psychological examination. I'm just wondering why we don't have the same criteria for the commander-in-chief who might potentially order the nuclear attack to begin.
That's obvious regarding the tax returns. Years ago, when I was a candidate for Congress, my then Campaign Manager told me this you can tell pretty much what the platform of a specific politician would look like by simply following the money. Tax returns have more detail to show in that regard.
Last but not least, as a veteran, it's troublesome that our country allows someone to serve as commander-in-chief of the armed forces of our country without ever spending a day in our military. What can a person who's never worked understand about the ones who do?
