Is prostitution a victimless crime? Include at least three arguments for your response and cite their corresponding resources.

• Prostitution is listed among the crimes some refer to as victimless or consensual crimes, because no one present at the crime is unwilling, but research shows that may not be the true picture of prostitution.
• In most countries, prostitution -- exchanging money for sex among adults -- is legal. It is illegal in only a few countries -- in the United States (except for ten counties in the state of Nevada), India, Argentina, some Muslim and Communist countries.
• Human trafficking is a crime and can have untold consequences to the women and men involved in it.
• The reason it is legal is the general attitude that prostitution does no harm, has no victims, and is sex among consenting adults.
• We can not exactly say it is victimless for many of the women who live this life are victims of society and have no way to support themselves or their children. Given that, though, if both adults are consenting to this type of business deal then it should not be prosecuted for it is victimless in that sense.
• I believe that prostitution is a victimless crime. I believe there are women out there who chose to offer the service and they tend to collect hefty sums, they operate like a business and should be seen as a business. I believe women can be taken advantage of or possibly forced into the field, but I don't feel as though that is the same thing as general prostitution.
