The density of a 10 kg cube of silver is 10.5 g/cm3. What would the density of a 5 kg cube of silver be?
I thought the answer would be 5.25 g/cm^3 because m1/m2=p1/p2 so 10kg/5kg=10.5 g/cm^3/ x and you solve for x. But this is coming up as wrong and I don't know why, do i need to convert the kg to g???
Density of a substance is total mass of that substance divided by total volume occupied by that substance.
If there is no change in temperature or pressure density of a substance remains same. Its SI unit kg/m3
Given density of a 10 kg cube of silver is 10.5 g/cm3
So this cube will occupy certain volume V.

Now What would the density of a 5 kg cube of silver be?
Actually density does not change.
The 5 kg cube occupies less volume
Which is half of volume of 10 kg cube

No need to solve for x .that method is wrong.
You do have to convert either mass or density . I converted kg to gram.
