Consider a well-mixed tank filled with 200 L of liquid containing a chemical A at the concentration of 4 mol/L which decomposes following a first order kinetics RA=k.CA with a rate constant of k=0.05 min-1 . At t=0 an outlet stream starts to leave the tank with the flow rate of 5 L/min. After the liquid level falls to the half of the initial level, an inlet stream with CA=4 mol/L starts entering the tank at a flow rate of 5 L/min. Calculate the outlet stream concentration 30 minutes after the start of the operation.

A well-mixed stirred tank reactor has a volume of 200 L. The feed to the reactor is a stream with a flow rate of 50 L/min that has a concentration of species A equal to 5 moles/L. This species undergoes a reaction in the tank of the form A ----> B The rate of the reaction (rate of consumption of A) is given by rA=kCa with K = 4 min-1. The exit stream from the reactor is also 50 L/min...

A liquid containing 3 g/L of titanium is added to a 72 L tank at the increasing rate of 4t L/min. (Note: t is time in minutes). The liquid is well-mixed, and 4t L/min is removed from the tank, keeping the volume of liquid in the tank at 72 L. If the tank is initially full, and contains no titanium, how many minutes later does the tank contain 54 g of titanium?
