• 1.Yes,cultural differences do affect leadership practices.Each culture is different from each other,and each culture has their own values and beliefs systems which people follow.Even the work ethics are different and unique to a particular culture.As the world has become globalized and multicultural,the leadership practices are getting influenced by culture.
• For instance,in Asian cultures,importance of rank and the hiearchy is emphasized,which makes leaders in such cultures adopting a more dominant role.There is clear hiearchy which exists between subordinates and leaders in such cultures,and subordinates only follow and not question their leaders decisions.
• Hierachies and ranks are considered less important in western cultures.Relationships between leaders and subordinates is less formal,having mutual respect for each other.The leader doesnt have an overly dominant role,therefore anyone can give their suggestion and work in collaboration with each other.Leaders give opportunities to their subordinates to voice their opinions and work together.Leadership is more collective,rather than receiving only one directional commands.
