Based on the patient’s age factor patient may have respiratory failure due to any kind of conditions like asthma, COPD, pneumonia ,emphysema etc. Bradypnea and hypoxia are some of the evidences for respiratory dysfunction. Hyperthermia may be due to some infectious disorders.

Respiratory acidosis is a condition that occurs when the lungs can’t remove enough of the carbon dioxide (CO2) produced by the body.

TREATMENT:

Treatment will focus on managing any underlying conditions. The goal is to improve airway function. Some strategies include:

  • antibiotics (to treat infection)
  • Oxygen administration
  • diuretics (to reduce excess fluid affecting the heart and lungs)
  • bronchodilators (to expand the airways)
  • corticosteroids (to reduce inflammation)
  • mechanical ventilation (in severe cases)
