A scientist has invented a pill that can replace sleep. It is organic, cheap, and the only side effect is the elimination of dreaming. People taking it would recover approximately 25 years’ worth of time that would otherwise be spent sleeping. Do you foresee any problems resulting from releasing this pill?

  • A dream is the language of the unconscious. According to Freud, our all suppressed thoughts, ideas, desires will settle at unconscious. This unconscious will create psychological disorders. We can find out solutions for psychological disorders with the help of dreams. If we used that pill, we will never find out the exact reason for psychological disorders because we will miss our dreams.
  • While we are sleeping, Memories which we are gained in the day time will be stored in our brain. If we didn't sleep, there is a high possibility to lose those memories.
  • Brain plasticity capacity will be increased by sleep. If we used that pill, our brain plasticity capacity will be decreased.
  • While we are sleeping, some neurotransmitters will be released by our body and they will clean the tissues and dead cells in our body. If we used that pill, dead cells and tissues will occupy our bodies.

In this way, there are so many problems that will be raised by using that pill.
