The possible things that can be listed on a classified balance sheet in a categorical order are primarily assets and liabilities and stockholders equity .Assets are further classified into current assets , investments, Plant property and equipment, intangible assets and other assets. Assets are classified in the order of liquidity and liabilities are classified on the basis of those that are payable first. Liabilities are further classified into current liabilities, long term liabilities and other liabilities. Stockholders equity has the common stock , retained earnings and preferred stock.
