ANS: The Prenatal and perinatal psychology can elaborate the psycho physiological and psychological effects and implications of the earliest experiences of the individual, before birth (prenatal), as well as during and immediately after childbirth (perinatal).

2. What is the concept of tabula rasa?

ANS: In Locke's philosophy, tabula rasa was the theory that at birth the (human) mind is a "blank slate" without rules for processing data, and that data is added and rules for processing are formed solely by one's sensory experiences. The notion is central to Lockean empiricism.

The word tabula rasa is derived from Latin which literally means scraped tablet (a tablet with writing erased). It denotes absence of innate or preconceived ideas or goals especially the human mind at birth. This term dates back to the writings of Aristotle.

3. What is the difference between implicit and explicit memory?

ANS: Implicit memory is the memory which something that does not require conscious thought. Brushing your teeth is an example. An explicit memory requires conscious thought. This would be remembering something you read.

The explicit memory is the Memory in which there is a need for conscious recollection in order to recall something. By contrast, in implicit memory there is a lack of conscious awareness in the act of recollection. Implicit memory may survive largely unimpaired at the same time as a person's powers of explicit memory decline with age or are devastated in Alzheimer disease

ANS: Trauma is an unexpected and sudden occurrence of an event that may cause intense shock and fear in the mind of an individual and can have a profound effect on mental health and the development of the individual.

Trauma impacts communication system of the individuals as they are likely to feel insecure and unsafe with people around.

Trauma affects an individual's ability to store information and/or create memories which impacts the learning process as well.
