What types of reactions occur in a nuclear power plant? Is the process endothermic or exothermic? Please answer in more than 150 words.
Answer – The nuclear power plant is used for the generating the electricity. In the nuclear power plant there is nuclear reaction occurred. There are two type of the nuclear reaction and they are fission and fusion nuclear reaction. In the nuclear power plant there is mainly occurred fission nuclear reaction.
We know fission nuclear reaction the heavier nucleolus like nucleus of a uranium-235 atom absorbed neutrons and split in to the small lighter element with evolving the high energy called fission nuclear reaction. In the fission nuclear reaction there are released, gamma radiation, free neutrons and kinetic energy. This released elements again absorbed the neutrons and the fission reaction goes on the continue and this is called nuclear chain reaction, so such radioactive reaction is very hard for the control.
So in the nuclear power plant there is fission nuclear reaction occurred. We know the reaction in which energy gets released called exothermic reaction, so fission nuclear reaction is exothermic, since it released energy.
