International Students.
Covid 19 has adversely impacted the international students and their studies. Studies have been disrupted. They have to leave the respective universities and return to their hometowns.Coronavirus stormed through the global economy grinding activities almost to a halt. This applies to the normal operations of universities classes are empty, and research retreated to single researchers. Not only education is impacted but the prospect of finding future job is also delayed resulting in economic loss.
Small businesses
Most of the small businesses including small industries and shopkeepers have to face severe losses due to lock downs and shutdown.However businesses involved in supplying necessities like milk, vegetables, online delivery portals, online stores are better as demand for these necessities have increased.Businesses involved in supplying sanitizers, medicines, masks are flourishing as the need of these items have increased manifold.
Airlines
Airlines is one of the worst hit sectors due to Covid 19. International Flights have been banned to prevent the spread of virus and this has resulted in severe losses to airline industry.Airline passenger revenues are set to plunge by 55 per cent, or $314 billion, in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.As of early April, the number of flights worldwide was down by 80 per cent compared to the same period in 2019.IATA is calling for airlines to be given financial relief in the form of loans, loan guarantees, support for the corporate bond market and tax relief.
First Nation People
Indigenous communities are especially at risk due to the inequalities they experience in the home countries.There are over 476 million Indigenous people living in 90 countries and account for 6.2 percent of the global population. However, Indigenous Peoples are nearly three times as likely to be living in extreme poverty and are more likely to suffer negative outcomes from infectious diseases. Many Indigenous communities are already impacted by malnutrition, pre-existing conditions, and lack access to quality healthcare and now Covid 19 has increased their problems.The high prices of necessities, loss of employment due to lock downs, farmers not allowed to go to their fields, lack of medical facilities for these communities have adversely impacted and made the situation grave.
