How do the institutions of the European Union today reflect its historical roots? Or have they left those roots behind?
European Union is a political and econimic union which consists of 27 countaries of Europe, it was established when Maastricht treaty came to action in 1993 and from then it has been working on betterment and development of european nations .The key elements that could be said to be on the roots of European Nations were to promote peace ,to promote the values of europe to its upcoming generations, to ensure the well being of the citizens of europe , to ensure that there is security for each and every member of the states,to ensure that there is justice served to the citizens and states without any internal borders. Also they ensured that there should be sustainable development which is followed by balanced economic growth and the price stability, there should be highly competetive market economy which should be with full employment and also to ensure enviromental protection.
In recent years there can be seen a little disturbance on the balance on the operations of european union when England decided to withdraw itself from the union but there is no doubt that EU tries its best to keep attached to its roots. The euro is currency for may of the european states,in past decade all the european countries have tried their best to fight with terror and the union has the best workforce as compared to any other national workforce .though there had been an economic crisis on the head of the europe and to fight this issue the union established the banking union fr safer and more reliable banks .It has ensured the safety and peace since this decade and due to which the european union has recieved the peace prize in 2012. Climate change is the new and warm agenda in world today and european union is working to eradicate this problem and to make a substantial development.
