ratio is 0.98. If a uniform surcharge of 200 kN/m2 is applied on
the ground surface, determine the consolidation settlement for the
following cases, Cc = 0.35, Cs = 0.08.
a)Preconsolidation pressure, σ'p = 350 kN / m2 b)
b)Preconsolidation pressure, σ'p = 150 kN / m2
1.2 For case b) of the previous exercise determine, a) What is the void ratio at the end of 100% of consolidation. b) If Cv = 1.5 mm2 / min, how long will it take to settle the first 100 mm? Take the two-way drain for the clay layer.
