Consider the criteria for successful IT projects. Why is IT project success often so difficult to assess? Make a case for some factors being more important than others.
*IT Project success:-*
• An IT project is successful when it follows the following:-
1. all the agreed
objectives
2. schedule
3. scope
4. quality
• It is an important element is to indicate the project nature and
achieve all the goals of an organisation.
*An IT project success is difficult to assess because:-*
1. An IT project cannot succeed easily because of the various
criterias of success. Some criterias for successful IT project are
very difficult to measure perfectly.
2. Different customers will give different feedbacks as per their
experience and satisfaction level.
3. Improper or inadequate training & experience, user
background etc. are some factors affecting the project success. It
is very hard to identify these affecting factors at a planning or
implementation stage.
*Following are the most important factors:-*
1. Data quality and its use is the most important evaluation
criteria which is also easy to assess. However the designed project
systems must meet the customer specifications. Here, these
specifications must be known at the beginning of the project to
ensure its maximum quality.
2. All the important six criterias have to be determined more
effectively to satisfy the customer requirements.
