Is it possible to make access to life-saving drugs possible without completely overhauling the world’s system of intellectual property protections? and Is there room for the equitable distribution of life-saving medicines within neoliberal globalization?
It can be possible only with the International support where there should be a friendly agreement among all the member countries of the World Health organisation regarding the development of drugs future life saving should be generic in nature and not any patent protected and this can come only with the regional cooperation among the member countries and otherwise the drug would be patented itself and this has to be thought off right after the covid-19 pandemic because it would help in sharing the information so that such a pandemic might not appear again on the whole. However with the neo liberalized globalisation, what is happening is that many of the companies who are actually striving for the medicine for covid-19 are actually profits and that is the reason why they would be demotivated and mein invest less if there would be no intellectual protection on the whole and that is the reason why this might not be possible where the equitable distribution can seen harsh on those companies in this case all in all
