• The Health Belief Model (HBM) was the most influential theory in health promotion. It is one of the oldest models which was created by Mr.I.Rosenstock in 1966. It was influenced by the study of reasons or rational study people showed for accepting or rejecting tuberculosis examination with X-rays.
It included steps.
1. perceived barriers
2. perceived costs
3. Perceived susceptibility
• Theory of Planned Behavior (1985)
This theory was developed by Ajzen in 1985 from theory of reasoned action.according to this theory three factors influence intent
1. The attitude of the person to behave.
2. Evaluation of other co-workers consideration of behaviour.
3. Perceived behaviour control level.
• Diffusion of Innovations Theory (1962)
According to this theory, technical advancement is related to promotion of health in two ways:
• Use of electronic media
• The implementation does not always sustain.
• The Precaution Adoption Process Model
It resembles the Stages of Change. It focuses to aware people about health hazards. and engaging them in behavioural change.
• Transtheoretical Model or Stages of Change Model (1997)
This model suggests that willingness to change behaviour are varies from person to person.
Five stages of this model is
• Preparation
• Action
• maintenance
• Precontemplation
• Contemplation
