In 2008, S. Stephen-Wales from Canada set the world record for his age group (15-19) for climbing the 320 m vertical height empire state building stairs. Suppose that he climbed the first 300 m in 12 minutes 30 seconds. Estimate the total power his body needed to produce in climbing the 300m if his body's bio-mechanical efficiency was 25%. Assume that his mass was 50kg.
In the given problem Firstly we have to calculate out put power and can be calculate using below problem
This represents the out put power
Total power can be calculate using below formula
Here represents the Total power of his body
Note:While substituting efficiency in above formula you need not take percentage for 25. Simply take 25 without symbol % as we are already multiplying with 100.Percent means Per cent that means hundred .
