1. What are the challenges that are usually encountered in integrating innovation into environmental sustainability? Suggest solutions to meet the challenges.
When integrating innovation, the environmental issues faced
are:
- Pollution: With high scale industries working and new
technologies being used, there is a lot of pollution created by
these industries. Water, air and noise pollution are different
pollution being faced.
- Exhaustion of non renewable resources: The non renewable fuels
are being used way too much and there is no time for their
replenishment. This has destroyed the environment by great
measure.
- Climate change: With more technological innovation comes more
time spent in industries for production purposes. These factories
inject harmful gasses in the air and hence depleting the ozone
layer, destroying the nature and hence harming the
environment.
The solutions to meet these changes are:
- Sustainable innovation: There should be policies so that there is
sustainable development by the factories and the products they are
producing do not affect the environment.
- Shift towards renewable resources: It is better to shift towards
renewable energy and use solar, water and air energy for
production.
- 'Go Green' should be the motto: The motto for the organizations
should be go-green and they should be producing things which
motivate the spirit of saving the environment.
- Strict regulations: The Government should adopt strict
regulations and rules for the companies that they do not destroy
the environment. If innovations, which harm the environment, are
created, strict action should be taken against those companies.
