Ans:

MCQ: An example of bioremediation is --------------------

Bioremediation:

It is the process of treatment of contaminated media, water, soil and subsurface material. For bioremediation specific microorganisms are used to decontaminate any contaminated material as mentioned above.

e.g. suppose water is contaminated with heavy metals which are toxic to human health. Then microbes need to be engineered in such a way that while growing in contaminated water it will decontaminate it. In this process, the growth of microorganism is not altered.

Together all this process is referred to as Bioremediation. (Remediation using bio/microorganism)

Hence the answer for the above question is Wastewater treatment.

i.e. Option b is correct.

In this microorganisms are utilized to degrade the waste present in water.

All other options are not related to Bioremediation.

like one is ethanol production it is related to the fermentation process.

production steroids it is related to metabolism or synthesis.

cheese production is also not related to bioremediation
