San Jose State University has experienced many different types of assaults and attacks over the recent years. Protecting students on campus day and night should be the main concern of the university. Risky Business believes that this is due to the poor lighting on campus to ensure that students feel safe. We believe that motion activated lighting on campus and in the parking garages will deter potential threats. Our project will dive into the scope baseline, project cost, and critical path.

Please provide who are the stakeholders in the above project plan and write 2 paragraph on how we will communicate with them in upgrading the lighting on campus and parking garage.

Don't simply list the strategies. You need to relate them to your project scenario. For example, if you say you plan to meet your stakeholders for communicating project status. You may explain how often you will meet, and what kind of info you plan to report as your milestone at monthly or quarterly meetings.

Solutions

Expert Solution

The stakeholders in the above project plan are:

1) San Jose State University's Management

2) Students

3) Risky business (They company which will handle the project)

The Project Scenario is: Improving lighting on the campus to protect the students from assaults and attacks.

With consideration to project scenario, we plan to upgrade the lighting on campus and parking garage in following ways:

a) We plan to keep meeting the University's management on monthly basis. In the meeting, we will inform them about the progress of the project, and time remaining for completion of project. We will also keep track by asking the management if there were any repeated incidence of assaults and attacks on the students during the project phase. Depending on the severity of the issue and requirement of early finishing of the projectm we will try to speed-up the process which may lead to increased cost/budget. In such case we request management to co-ordinate with us.

b) Our project will dive into the scope baseline, project cost, and critical path. We will also follow the project management triangle (i.e, we will deliver the project scope at a reasonable quality within fixed budget and schedule)

Scope baseline: Establish motion activated lighting on campus and in the parking garages for students safety

Project cost: Cost will depend on cost of motion-activated lighting panels and labour cost. The cost of project will be conveyed at the start of project itself. In case of any variation as the project proceeds, the same will be communicated by phone/email/in monthly meetings.

Critical path: Crtical path is the path in the project which takes longest duration to complete. In case on your request or depending on situation of need for safety on urgent basis, the project duration has to be reduced. This will be possible by reducing the critical path duration. Which may result in increase in cost/budget.
