Problem 1: Independent Samples T In a study of jury behavior, two samples of participants were provided details about a trial in which the defendant was obviously guilty. Both groups received common details. However, group two was also told that some evidence had been withheld from the jury by the judge. Participants were asked to recommend a sentence. The table below summarizes the average sentence (in years) for each group. Is there a difference in recommended sentence between the two groups? Use a two-tailed test at α = .05 significance level.
Group 1 n 8 M 3 SS 16
Group 2 n 8 M 6 SS 24
