Expert Solution

Olly Racela was an MBA graduate born in Hawaii, USA.she started working in Bangkok. At a certain point of time she attained a training opportunity form an employer in Thailand and a new job offer from American company.

Now the dilemma before her was to stay or leave Thailand for which she has analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of living in Thailand vs. USA.

ADVANTAGES of living in Thailand: independence, easy travel within Asia and social network, company organized accommodation and good client base

Disadvantages of living in Thailand: While working and living in Thailand she has faced many language and cultural barriers. She has adapted herself to different living environment in the overcrowded, populated and hot country. She was far away from home being and independent girl. She has also faced gender difference in terms of compensation there. Working style include lack of autonomy and structure.

Advantages of living in USA-            she would be closed to her family and friends and already had familiarity with the city. Familiarity with appropriate work ethics is also inportnat.here she could have more opportunity it make decisions

Disadvantages of living in USA- travelling are more costly. Unknown position was being offered which lacked a challenging job role.

My recommendation is that she should stay in Thailand in terms of working and day to day life. She should analyze her own hierarchy of needs first and then look into future.
