Reflect on a moment when you experienced a sudden insight, or an "aha!" moment -- when you suddenly understood something differently than before. Tell the story, and reflect on how that happened, why that moment occurred -- what changed? And why do you think your perspective changed in that moment? Does that have any connection with what we've been describing in a Constructivist approach? Make some connections to our topics in this module. I want you to label the parts of your experience with terms from the theory: assimilation, accommodation, equilibration, and focus on what new idea or concept was part of the sudden insight.
Answer. In my examination once I hd studied everything and I knew almost everything in the question paper. There was this one question I knew that I had studied well but somehow could not recollect the answer . I tried remebering but could’nt . Later after I completed my paper all of a sudden I remembered the answer . That was an AHA moment for me. I think it was due to stress and anxiety that I forgot that answer. But later shen all my paper was complete my stress levels reduced and so I could actually think of that particular andwer more effectively.
ASSIMILATION- it means to use existing knowledge to solve a problem . In this case when I was stuck up on that one question for 10 minutes without moving forward , I was trying to think hard of that answer. That was assimilation.
ACCOMODATION- it is learning of new information and skills to solve a problem. In this case I let go that question for few minutes and later autmatically recalled that answer.
EQULIBRIUM- it is a state of balance when we solve a problem using our existing knowledge . In this case until I got the solution I was in a state of disequilibrium throughout. Later when I used accomodation i could reach the state of equilibrium.
