critically examine any five benefits of international organisations to Ghana's political and socio-economic development as well as any five problems of international organisations to Ghana's development
International organisations such as IMF, World Bank, United Nations have brought about economic development in Ghana by way of creating sustainable and competitive jobs by bringing about promotion of private investment. It has also spurred private entrepreneurship and thus ability of the population to get employed. These funds have helped spur economic growth rate. It has also helped improve productive capacity of the country and Ghana was expected to be the fastest growing economy in the world. With the help of the organisations ease of finance availability improved which further spurred the growth rate. Small and medium enterprises have been empowered which help drive the economy.
Now, the problems associated with the help from international organisations are that it has failed to address the poverty gap, oftentimes the aid which they get is being used by the politicians which has impacted the poverty gap. Of the aid and money received the country is still grappling with unemployment issues, low utilisation of natural resources, poor infrastructure and low electricity availability. Thus inspite of the aid received by Ghana and even though it has started to develop, the countries local policies need to implement the aid in proper measure with no room for corruption and help bring about a transformative solution to end poverty and high rates of unemployment.
