Give two examples or cases, where you (as a future engineer) may be under pressure by the manager or boss to do an action that is basically violates the “Code of Conduct” or “Engineering Ethics.” This action that are asked to do may hurt you, the company or the customers and consumers.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Engineering ethics or code of conduct is a sole for the engineer. We have to fallow definitely the principles of the ethics. But in the construction field in sometimes we are unable to follow this ethics because of so many conditions and situations practically we face practically. These problems usually happen with the management of the company where we are working so show latest discuss this thing in detail by using two examples.

1. Quality of construction 2. Wrong Estimation

Consider that the company constructing flats in appartments for customers/consumers

1. Quality of construction it is one of the most essential thing in the construction. Whenever we provide good quality then the cost of construction automatically increases so the management or owners of the company they are trying to reduce price are cost of the construction by using some kind of non quality material are by following some m9 quality working procedures because of this the cost of construction by reduced but the ultimate quality may decrease so decreasing the cost of construction make some profit to the company but decrease in the quality of construction may hurt the engineer are the consumer. Maintaining quality is the responsibility as a engineer for the construction of apartment here the quality identify the engineer and as well as a management but the consumers are customers are not able to identify the quality of the construction. It may be repressible to us as a engineer but as per the guidance of the management we have to do to and follow the instructions.

2.Wrong estimation

After the construction of the flats in apartments the price of the the each flat can be estimated by considering the the all the things into consideration. There are so many things of all that will take type of wood uesd in the flats as interior material, doors, windows and all remaining wood works. The wood cost may be less but in the estimation they will cote more like this price of all materials will cote more and the final sum is become very high as a engineer we know all this but we can't do any thing because the price is desided by the management only just we have to estimate the quantity of material but the unit price is desided by management here also customers/consumers may loss but the things are happening like this only.
