The basic difference between the introduction of business report and the that of abstract of a journal article is that the abstract of the journal article is generally a short summary of the article whereas the introduction is generally the beginning of the report related to business that will provide few insights into the business. The basic objective of an introduction is to attract the attention of the reader to read the whole article and in order to do that the introduction should possess and interesting story which will be solved after the report ends and the introduction mainly consists of what is about to happen and how and it may consists of some details about the various interesting aspects of the business. I believe that if the introduction is not strong then the reader may actually lose interest about the report which is not at all expected. In order to grab the attention of the reader the introduction may also have some facts and figures in brief which may have details later on that will keep the reader interested about the matter of the report.
