two solutions can be found on either side of a semi-permeable membrane. a 4.0m sucrose solution is found on the left side and a 2.0m Nacl solution is found on the right side. which direction will the solvent flow?

Also what would happen if it was 2.0m nacl on left and 4.0m sucrose on right ? what if it was 2.0nacl and 2.0m sucrose ?

please explain thanks

Osmosis occurs when two solutions of different concentrations are separated by a semipermeable membrane. The membrane allows solvent particles, but not solute particles, to pass through. Thus, the solvent moves toward the solution of higher concentration (to dilute it) until the two solutions have the same concentration, or until gravity overtakes the osmotic pressure, Π. The osmotic pressure between a solution and pure solvent depends on the number of solute particles and thus is a colligative property. It can be...

Sometimes a constant equilibrium solution has the property that solutions lying on one side of the equilibrium solution tend to approach it, whereas solutions lying on the other side depart from it. In this case the equilibrium solution is said to be semistable. Consider the equation dy/dt = y^2(4 − y 2 ) = f(y), where y(0) = y0 and −∞ < y0 < ∞. (i) Sketch the graph of f(y) versus y.
