what is Tycho’s influence on Kepler and how the laws of planetary motion swayed the scientific community to accept the heliocentric model.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Tycho Brahe with the help of the king had the best observatory of those times and was able to record all the astronomical data with great precision. after the king died the funding for his laboratory was no more provided and he had to leave the Island. later he felt the need for a mathematician to compute his values and Kepler had applied for this post and he got it. for many years Kepler worked with Tycho Brahe and he knew that the Brahe's theory of the earth as the center was wrong but he kept his mouth shut. Kepler believed in copernicus' heliocentric theory, but after Tycho's death when Kepler tried to interpret the data in favour of Copernicus' theory, he was still facing failure. Later after years of interpretation and calculations he came to a conclusion that the orbit was not circular as copernicus had predicted, the orbit was actually elliptical and he frame the firat two laws, the law of orbits and the law of equal areas. The third law was framed years after this discovery which is till today the basis of astronomy, Kepler's laws are obeyed by all the planetary motions in the universe. Thus this is the way in which the Great mathematician Johannes Kepler gave us the heliocentric theory and the three laws of planetary motion with accuracy.
