Evaluate the effects of placing buildings (villages) on the slope for all 3 water table conditions(a normal water table scenario, a winter water table scenario and a drained slope scenario)
● Effect of placing building on slope for:-
Normal water table scenario:-
Slope stability for a bulding in Normal water table is influenced by many factors like condition of water table, the analysis and calculation of the stability safety factor.
So by these factors building on slope ground effected with, if water table is high we have construct more Strong retaining walls in comparison to low water tables because strength in saturated soil is less than in dry soils.
Winter water table :-
During late winter, when snow melts and precipitation is high, the water table rises.
so for this condition the effect of water table on buildings situated on sloped ground is that the foundation should have great strength because there is a chance of stability failure (due to low shear strength in saturated soil) of the sloped surface on which the building is constructed.
Drained slope scenario :-
This is a condition in which the water is drained from the soil by drainage paths or weep holes. So there is no water table near the foundation which gives a plus point to the soil stability if it is cohesive soil.
So the effect of drained slope on the sloped building is that the construction cost is reduced because less requirements of damp proofness and no requirement of more deep foundations( beacuse more shear strength).
if helpful then hit ?.
Thank you.
