*Empire state building located in NEWYORK city ,USA is 1250feet height. which is build at total cost of $41 million in the year 1931.
most of the structure is a steel structure and total of 60000 tons of steel is used and 10million beicks, 2000000 cubic feet of indiana limestone and granite and 730 tons of aluminium and stainless steel.
through building there is no open spans or column free spaces beacuse of closely columns which obstruct the open space in the building. Use of steel and beams have formed a 3D grid in complete building.
an antenna is placed at the top of the building which seve as the lightining rod for the other structures build near by it.
*JOHN HANCOCK CENTER located in Chicago city,USA total height id 1127 feet.
its the first building in the world to be built for different purposes like restaurants, offices and even for residence.
main concept use in the building is the tabular system which give strength to the building against earthquake and the wind.
It is also called as sper tall steel tube. this skyscraper ha steelcoluns and beams arround its perimeter.
in order to prevent it from sinking many caissons are extended upto the rock bed and from the design details it is seen that one of the caisson reaches 191 feet below from the ground level.
