In other words, passive solar energy does not involve any panels or batteries and nothing is supplied to the general electricity grid. Passive systems can be used for heating or cooling.
In the active system, heat is transferred mechanically through the use of air or water. An active solar system uses mechanical equipment to collect, store, and distribute heat from the sun. Active systems consist of solar collectors, a medium to store, and a distribution system. These systems are usually used for heating water, conditioning, electricity production.
