Should we, as a Constitutional society, allow the police to have increased authority in making warrantless arrests? Should police be required to obtain warrants instead of warrantless arrests? Defend your position on the topic. Be sure to address future ramifications of the decision you make. Think of what impact your decision may have, hypothetically.

There are times when Police officers find themselves in conditions where they need to do a warrantless arrest because they are able to arrest an individual which might not be available for them in future. However being a constitutional society, our society does not give the police the authority to do warrantless arrest. In my opinion there should be special circumstances under which the police officers are given authority to conduct warrantless arrest such as when an individual is possessing information or weapons which can threaten national security. Also in the cases where Police officers are having adequate evidence against a particular individual and there is a risk of flight of the individual if action is not taken in time, then the police officer should have the authority to do warrantless arrest. there can be consequences to this policy as well. Police officers can be biased towards a particular community or group and that community or group will have to face discrimination and increased chances of arrests from the police force which will not be ethical or fair to the community.
