Expert Solution

One of the most important reasons why people don’t believe in scientific findings is religion. When people are more religious, they would say that there is nothing more than God thus anything that speaks beyond the scriptures will be considered as blasphemy. Secondly, if people are illiterate and have difficulty understanding the scientific findings, they won’t accept them because whatever they are not able to understand doesn’t exist or it is supernatural. Thirdly, if the findings do not help them or have any impact on them, they might just ignore them. Finally, if they live in a culture that goes with the traditional way of living and avoid any modern intervention, people might ignore them. Climate change is one big thing which is still not in the knowledge of most of the common people. Most of them consider the natural disasters as God’s punishment and some even think what difference it’s going to make if they do something about it thus showing their ignorance and indifference.
