Rate of service of blood pressure measurement ( 5 minutes per exam ) = S = 60 /5 = 12 persons / hour

  1. Average number of people in the line = a^2 / S x ( S -a ) = 10 x 10 / 12 x ( 12 – 10 ) = 100 / 12 x 2 = 4.17( rounded to 2 decimal places)
  2. Average number of people in the system =   Average number of people in the line + a/s = 4.17 + 10/12 = 4..17 + 0.83 = 5
  3. Average amount of time a person can expect to spend in line
