Solutions

Expert Solution

6. Translatio is the process by which the genetic code carried in the mRNA is decoded, making a chain of amino acidss, also called polypeptide chain. In other words, we can call it the protein biosynthesis.

There are 3 types of RNA involved in translation-

  • mRNA , or the messenger RNA-Encodes the gentic code to a chain of amino acid.
  • tRNA ,or the transfer RNA- It brings the amino acids to the ribosomes, it is also called adapter RNA.
  • rRNA , or the ribosomal RNA -It makes up the ribosomes with ribosomal protein.

7. Codon-It is the sequence of nucleotides(A,T,G,C) of DNA or RNA , which codes for the a specific amino acid after translation.

8.There are specific codons, which are called the start and stop codons ,when an ribosomes encounters a start codon, it will start the translation. When a ribosome encounters a stop codon , it stops the translation process.

  • Start codons-AUG.ATG,
  • Stop codons- UAA,UAG,UGG
