An increase in diastole duration will increase oxygen supply to the heart muscle, which is good for a patient with angina. However, the increase in diastole duration will.........,
which can increase oxygen demand of the heart muscle. Which one of the following options is the correct to fill in the blank?
A. Increased coronary circulation
B. Increase blood volume to inside the heart chambers
C. Increased force of contractility of the heart muscle
D. Increased heart rate
When the Diastole in our human heart increase it will provide more time for the relaxation of human heart . But when this increase in the Diastole of heart take place the amount of blood that return back from the extremities will increase. This increase in the blood return will cause increase in the the preload of the heart . This will cause an increase in force of contraction to cause the blood to eject as more amount of blood is present in the heart. So human heart will need more amount of oxygen to compensate this increase in the force of contractility will need more oxygen supply
So option c is the correct answer
