1. An airline’s data indicate that 50 percent of people who begin the online process of booking a flight never complete the process and pay for the flight. To reduce this percentage, the airline is considering changing its website so that the entire booking process, including flight and seat selection and payment, can be done on two simple pages rather than the current four pages. A random sample of 300 customers who begin the booking process are exposed to the new system, and 117 of them do not complete the process.

a. Formulate the null and alterative hypotheses needed to attempt to provide evidence that the new system has reduced the non-completion percentage.

b. Use the critical value approach to test the hypotheses by setting α equal to 0.10, 0.05, 0.01 and 0.001.

c. Use the p-value approach to test the hypotheses by setting α equal to 0.10, 0.05, 0.01 and 0.001.

Data was collected to study the background of the people who participate in online gambling. 64 people were selected at random and asked about their annual salary and whether they went to college. After the survey, sample mean and sample standard deviation were calculated. They were $90K and $30K respectively. A. Calculate 95% confidence limits for the population mean annual salary. B. What is the interpretation of the limits in part A? C. If you calculate 99% confidence limits for...

A study of 50 people who were not on a diet showed that they consumed an average of 2200 calories in a day, with a standard deviation of 400 calories per day. For 40 people who were on a diet, they consumed an average of 2100 calories per day, with a standard deviation of 250 calories per day. At least 8 have the disease, rounded to four decimal places? At most 4 have the disease, rounded to four decimal places?

Data was obtained from a chemical process where the percent yield of the process is thought to be related to the reaction temperature (in degrees F). We would like to see if the temperature can predict the yield. The regression equation we obtained was Y = 17+ 2X. Use this information for all the parts. Part 1: What would X be here? Group of answer choices Yield, since it is the one being predicted. Temperature, since it is being used...

To find out if wealthier people are happier we collect data from 50 people about their income and their overall happiness on a scale from 1 to 10. The correlation coefficient comes out to be -0.25. Given that r=0.025 which means this is a weak negative correlation. In terms of strength, we can conclude that the correlation between income and happiness is moderate. In terms of direction, there is a negative correlation between happiness and income.  If we increase the number...
