Eating at Jack-in-the-Box restaurants, my receipt always offers me the chance at free food, or even thousands of dollars, if I am willing to call their 1-800 number and give them feedback about my visit. Is this the most effective way for Jack-in-the-Box to secure quality comments about their business? Why or why not? What suggestions do you have for fast food companies, like Jack-in-the-Box, for improving their methodology for securing quality comments from their visitors?
Offering free food and cash back cannot be considered as the most effective way to ensure quality comments about business. Providing offers for feedback is a good strategy to ensure customer support because most of the customers choose restaurants based on the number of positive feedbacks and ratings. But it cannot be considered as the most effective way as it leads to significant cost to the restaurant. The method may not be affordable in situations of economic crisis and there are more chances of customer dissatisfaction and negative feedbacks when they do not receive the expected benefits.
In my opinion the best method to ensure quality comments from the visitors is providing best service to the customers by ensuring excellent ambience, great care while serving food, tasty food served in clean vessels, faster service and humble staff. Customers feel valued when they receive excellent service for the price they paid and provide positive feedback without compelling through rewards. Hence I would suggest Jack-in the-Box restaurant to provide an option to give customer feedback while paying the bill after providing excellent service. The questions should be simple and should contain the options that best describe their experience with the restaurant within less time. Most of the customers ignore to provide feedback when it is sought after leaving the restaurant. This method would ensure maximum feedback with honesty as it is sought just after availing the services.
