Expert Solution

Govt policies are very important to anticipate , predict and direct the different patterns of rate of migration or the changes in the demographic pattern. These can be done with various policies which reflects upon the nature and decision making of the people of the country.

To change the demographic pattern , first we understand what demographic factors actually mean. Demographic factors means the different parameters of the population like sex ratio, average age, rate of education , level of income, number of people which are married and on what average age etc. The major predictions on the demographic factors are done with the population distribution on the basis of age. To direct the age factor , govt can put up various policies like putting on restrictions to child birth to control the child rate, provide medical facilities for lactating mothers , free health care for new mothers , incentives for schooling and further education for permanent residents etc. These policies will navigate the demographic tendencies on basis of birth decisions , which is the most controllable area in terms of demographic control.

Futher impacting demographics are the migration rates . If the govt with low demographic advantages provides policies serving enough incentives for the people to migrate in by providing high class life style , educational incentive etc, migration rate rises. On the other hand if the country has a high demographic burden, the migration must be encouraged outside the country with easy passport access and good ties with the foreign Govts etc.

This is how demographics can be manipulated with policies over time.
