How does rotating the coil in the electric motor affect the needle of the galvanometer move?
when the coil is rotated right the needle deflects to right and when the coil is rotated left it the needle deflects towards left.
When the coil is rotated towards one position and held at that position the needle in the galvanometer deflects when the coil is in rotating motion and when it is held at certain position the needle of galvanometer comes back to initial position (zero position).
Explain why the needle deflects when the coil in the electric motor rotates.
when ever a conductor is placed in change in magnetic field or when a moving conductor is placed in magnetic field an EMF is induced in the coil. This process is known as Faraday's laws of Electromagnitic induction. Due to this induced EMF current flows in the coil, due to this current the needle of galvano meter is deflects. The rate of deflection and magnitude of deflection depends on the current produced in the coil.
