A union is an association of workers who form a legal entity or legal entity called a "bargaining unit" that acts as a contracting agent and a legal representative per unit of employee in all matters of law or law arising from or In the management of collective agreements. Unions usually fund the functions of formal organizations, headquarters, and legal groups of unions through regular fees or union fees. Employees who are delegated to union representatives in the labor force are volunteers in the workplace who are appointed by members of the Democratic Electoral Commission.

Today, unions are usually formed to ensure that wages, benefits, working conditions, or social and political conditions are improved through collective bargaining through increased bargaining power of workers. Unions, through selected commissions for management and negotiation, terminate transactions with employers on behalf of union members (some members) and negotiate employment contracts (collective bargaining) with employers. The most common goal of these associations or unions is to "maintain or improve their working conditions." This may include wage negotiations, labor laws, occupational health and safety standards, grievance procedures, staff statutes, as well as salary increases that only result in termination of employment and employment benefits.

Unions can organize specific sections of skilled workers (artisan unions), cross-sections of workers from different professions (general unions), or try to organize all workers in a specific sector. Agreements negotiated by unions are related to members of the rank and employer, and in some cases to workers who are not other members. Trade unions traditionally have a constitution that details the management of their bargaining unit as well as the management of different levels of government, depending on the industry that legally connects them to their negotiations and processes.

Originating in the UK, trade unions became popular in many countries during the Industrial Revolution. Unions can be composed of individual workers, professionals, workers, alumni, apprentices, apprentices or unemployed. The union density, or percentage of unionized workers, is highest in Nordic countries.
