  1. Valuable resources: Valuable resources are those resources which allow the firm to take competitive advantage by improving on efficiency. These resources are not just performance enablers in the short term for the firm, but also create opportunity to take on the competitors on the long run by sustaining it. Considering the adult beverage firm, maintaining its core competency through its supply chain partners or other business partners is the way to go.
  2. Rare Resources: The resources which are not available to all the competitors are termed as rare resources. For adult beverage firm, having unique taste, niche positioning and exclusive channels partners can be termed as rare resources.
  3. Inimitable Resources: The resources which are either very costly to imitate or not at all possible to imitate. In the adult beverage industry, being unique, and exclusive in the key to success. As long as no other firm can imitate the resources you have, you are going to be the market leader for long term.
  4. Non-Substitutable Resources: The resources which are very difficult to substitute are termed as non-substitutable resources. For these resources, no other substitute can make the same impact and create the same level of performance. For adult beverage firms, these resources are as important as any other valuable resource, because competitors would not be able to match with these.
