1) The implications for society that decides to eliminate all sorts of punishments are:

It has both positive and negative implications attached to it -

• Negative implications : In some cases it is seen that crimes which have been done by the criminals are too severe and it seen that if we do not give a severe punishment for these types of crimes they repeat it for eg :crime such as rape gives the criminals an opportunity to repeat which will be unfair with the sufferer hence they should be given a severe punishment so that these types of crimes do not repeat.
• Positive implications: It is some times important to understand that it is not the person who is bad but it is that bad quality which leads a person to do such type of deeds . Hence forgiveness gives another chance to the person in order to enjoy his life again and do some good deeds for the society .

2) The assumptions underlying positivism in terms of treatment of offenders is that any who is born is not a criminal by birth but it is the situation which makes him the criminal or we can say that it is the nature of the person which results in criminal deeds.
