The Guideline based decision-making process is the step by step process where we can try to make the required deliberate & implement thoughtful decision-making by the organization of all the relevant information and then deciding the various alternatives.

The set of guidelines that an organization can choose in order to ensure the sound selection of the decision making is:

1. Identification of the decision: This is the start of the decision making process as this is where we decide the need to make a decision. here we need to clearly define the nature of the particular decision we need to make.

2. Gathering the Guidelines: Here we need to gather the relevant information we need to collect in order to carry out the decision, also we need to define the type of information which is needed and the ways to get the information. Here we need to collect both the: internal and external information i.e the internal organizational information and the external secondary information.

3.Identification of the Alternatives: Here we need to identify the several possibilities and the different alternatives that will list out the possible alternatives.

4. Weighing the Evidence: We should be drawing on the various information we collected and strive to select the alternative depending upon our requirement and decide on the potential alternative which is right for the present situation.

5. Choose the Alternative: After the weighing of the evidence, we need to select the best alternative among the given alternatives, the best alternative for our situation.

6. Taking the Action: Here we need to implement that we decide in the 5th step and take the necessary action.

7. Reviewing the Decisions: Here we should consider the various results of the various decisions & should evaluate the effectiveness of the implemented decision.
