As Kevin Rudy explains in “Moneyball Shows the Power of Statistics,” “[t]he movie Moneyball tells the story of how Oakland Athletics general manager Billy Beane used statistics to assemble and manage his baseball team.” 1Whether or not you have seen the movie, you can probably guess this approach was met with resistance. When Billy Beane first used this approach, managers took other factors into consideration. For example, little known or unknown players were not typically recruited over well-known, established players.

1. Explain whether or not you think assembling and managing a baseball team, or any team for that matter, based solely on statistics is an effective course of action.

2.Are there other factors that should be considered, and if so, which ones?

1. ANSWER- yes, assembling and managing a baseball team or any team for that matter,based solely on statistics is an effective course of action. As we know it very well that individual efforts in a team can't do much effect on winning of a match. For regular winning the team efforts is so necessary. For this each player in a team should be good enough to play a match with all efforts. A baseball team which is made by general selection of players on their current performance can do better or sometimes best but the team in which players are selected on their previous statistics i.e. if they have good statistics ( or greater no of goal and average performance etc) surely perform better than the team which are made where players are selected on current perdperform so , the team which in which players are selected solely on their statistical data is an effective course of action.

2.ANSWER- YES, there are some other factors which should be considered while making baseball team or any other team. Whether players are fit or not , whether they are descipline or not ,on which condition they perform better.these are some other factors which can be taken into account while selecting players as if players are fit then they perform well, if they are injured then they can't perform well inspite of having good player. And descipline too play important role in sports so it should be considered whether they are desciplined or not.

3 ANSWER- YES, According to me the statistics- based recruiting is an effective course of action as data never say wrong. They always give correct information about our experimental units. statistical data of players tells a lot i.e. whether that player is experienced or inexperienced, whether he perform on an average good or not, on an account how much he can run or set goal in different matches . About these all things we came to know about a particular player from statistical data of previous performance.hence selection or recruiting on the bais of statistics is effective course of action.
