This article is from 1999 and the contents pretty much hold true today. Considering what is going on in today's' world, how will tomorrow’s leader (think 5 - 10 years from now) differ from today’s leader? Explain.
As , countries are facing severe challenges due to chinese Corona Virus ( Covid19) , we can say that the role of leadership will be most challenging in addressing each problems raised or faced by different valuable stakeholders. For example, How to manage virtual workplace is an immediate challenge for HR leaders. Management of global supply chain crisis may be seen as major challenges for Global CEOs working for various companies. The need of hour is to see the challenges through participatory styles, democratic leadership , and contingency approach to leadership.
What i think is that future leadership or leaders must have readiness for seeing radical changes in business model , procedures, programs and the way things will be integrated in a totally different manners. Understanding lessons from Covid19 may be offer great preferences for business operations and decision making abilities.
In my view, the true or an effective leadership will adopt and focus on following value creating activities,
1) Focus on welfare of each stakeholders specifically to employees of an institution or others belonging to the society.
2) Focus will be on spiritual upbringings and lessons.
3) Value system development may be one of the activities.
4) Ethical standards must be highlighted to bring more changes at workplace.
5) Development of integrated efforts to business
In this way, a radical transformation may be done by emerging leaders. It will boost the name of a true leader who has ambition to help others.
